Arcanum Glacier Café and Glacier tour Winter program

The days in Iceland are getting shorter with winter is slowly setting in. The temperature is relatively warm for October and trees and shrubs are sporting the beautiful autumn colours.

The Arcanum Café has been slightly overhauled, as from now be switching to more self-service than sit down service.  This is done for the convenience of our customers.  It’s going to take less time to be served.  At the café you can go  for some refreshments before or after your tour or take with you.  The menu consist of warm soup and bread, various pies and  sandwiches.  The famous Icelandic Skyr and other Icelandic dairy products.  Hot and cold drinks, croissants and cakes as well for afternoon refreshments.

Arcanum Café’s opening hours in winter are between  09:30 to 17:30 daily.

Our tours will run as usual all winter.  We only close on Christmas Day  and New Years.

Snowmobiling is a great fun and suitable for everyone.  We will continue with the  three daily departures at 10am and 12:30 and 3:00pm.

Two kinds of glacier hikes are on the program,  3 hours and 2 hour tours.  Nothing compares the incredible feeling of walking on ice, everyone should try it at least once in their life.  The tours are suitable for all, in generally good health.  We provide clothing and the special gear for both the snowmobiling and glacier walk tours.

Rushing over the blacksand beach  Sólheimasandur on a Quad bike  is a total blizz.  After the tour you will feel like you have had a large doze of oxygen and a fill-up on the energy tank J  There are  three  daily departures,  at 10am, 12:30 and 3pm for the two hour tour, at 3 pm for the 1 hour tour.

The South shore day tours with pick-up in Reykjavík are on as well.  The pick-up starts at 8am at your hotel or at designated pick-up spots.
