3. Reynisfjara black sand beach

Reynisfjara black sand beach is probably one of the best know tourist sides in Iceland, located nearby the Dyrhólaey cliff. The Reynisfjara, like most places in Iceland, has this amazing black lava sand, but it also has basalt columns and a great view of Reynisdrangar cliffs by Vík and the big arch at Dyrhólaey. Ther can be big waves in Reynisfjara beach so please be careful there and do not go to close.

4. Dyrhólaey

The Dyrhólaey is now the southernmost place in Iceland. From there you have a great view both to the Reynisfjara and the Reynisdarangar cliffs by Vík, but also along the coastline to the west towards Mýrdalsjökull glacier and Eyjafjallajökull glacier. I love to go there early in the morning or late in the evening during summer time when the light is beautiful. Nice place for pictures

The Dyrhólaey is only about 20-minute drive from our glacier tour base.

5. Vík

The Village Vík is one of the places you have to visit when visiting south Iceland. The location is by the mountain Reynsifjall and the Reynisdrangar cliffs. A beautiful location with green hills (in summer) and black sand beach and the ocean. It is nice to walk around Vík and enjoy nature, and if you are hungry there are some nice restaurants there as well.
